Milton Carroll dropped by to see Dad during our recent concert in Memphis, Tennessee. Milton has been a friend for years, since the early days in Austin. He was one of the first artists signed to be on our old Lone Star record label. Milton has a great voice. In the 1970’s his song, Falling in Love is Like a 45 Slug in the Head, could be heard every night somewhere at a club in Austin. Milton left Austin, married and divorced singer Barbara Fairchild, married again and became a preacher; a calling he still answers. We love you Milton, come back to see us.41Fc2288JqL._SY300_milton_e

Hope some day I am that lucky to have my picture taken with Willie..

  17. Hello. Its nice to see Willie Nelson visiting his father. I was able to meet Willie back in a little town outside San Antonio. He signed a guitar for me. Well for my son. He wrote to all the girls we’ve love before Willie. It was taken from him. Can anyone tell me how I can get Mr Nelson to sign another one for me. I really want to replace it for my son.

  18. Willie, remember one of your old beer drinkin’ buddies in Austin at JAKES on W. 5th. U just back from Nashville in mid seventies brought u by my office at the Calcasieu Lumber Company and took a picture of you, me and guy I worked with. Later he gave me that pic in a frame..I put it in one of my desk drawers, few years later found it and hung it on my office wall. People would come in and see the picture and ask “You know Willie? I would say” Oh yes, we are tight” Years later after moving to LV came to one of your concerts with my old daddy and handed you that picture to autograph while on stage. You put it on your amplifier and curtain came down and I never saw the pic again, guess u took it back to Austin and hung it on your wall and when people come in they ask “U know Ken Johnson ?” And, you would reply, “oh yes we are tight” Keep singing, this story is in my legacy memoir Challenge of Change! HA! Cheers and Shalom

    • Your drinking buddy at Jakes was Jim Hale. He was my advertising agent in Austin. Talented guy!
If you still have that pic, send me a autographed copy. Thanks , if not one from you will do!

  25. I’ve been listening to Willie sence the old days. Him and Waylon were the best and stood for everything that was right. It was so cool then. He was the best then and will be always. Ride on outlaw.

  26. Willie My husband and I Saw you in Montgomery Ala. Farm Aide. Youve always been my husbands favorite singer, then Kris, Waylon and Johnny. His Daughter bought us tickets to your show for my husbands 64th bithday. Its your only concert weve ever attended. I found out if we waited in line after the show. We could meet you personally. And we did. I had you autograph my new tennis shoes. sing Family Bible with me. We had our pictures made with you. And I ask you one question. Is it well with your soul. You said YES!!! I went home and wrote a song about you. … always wanted you to hear it. But I guess that will never be.l

  27. I have seen about six times; once with Waylon and I never have been disappointed. Thanks for your wonderful voice and music. Ready to see you again, the last time I saw Willie was on his 80th Birthday in Ft Myers/Estero, Florida….!!!!

  28. I always loved that song and did have the pleasure of hearing Milton perform it back in the day. Someone should record that again. It’s impossible to find other than on vintage vinyl.

I’ve been a Willie fan since the ’72 picnic, and recently enjoyed your birthday performance at the backyard. Thank you for a million good memories.
